The video ID is the 11-character code after ?v= in a YouTube URL. For example, in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ, the video ID is dQw4w9WgXcQ.

You can also find it in the YouTube app by tapping "Share" on a video — the short link will contain the ID.

Not all YouTube videos have a custom HD thumbnail in 1280×720 resolution. This happens because:

• The video creator did not upload a custom thumbnail
• The video is older and was uploaded before HD thumbnails were standard
• The video's auto-generated thumbnail was not processed in HD

• There are no extra spaces before or after the URL
• The video ID is exactly 11 characters if you're entering it directly
